Apple TV 4K users can stream three college football games in 4K on October 19 – Appleosophy

Another weekend is just around the corner and for many Americans that means it’s time to watch college football as it’s an annual tradition on Saturdays in the fall.

This weekend there are a few games to stream in 4K and here they are:

  • Nebraska vs. Indiana – 12:00 PM ET on FOX
  • Colorado vs. Arizona – 4:00 PM ET on FOX
  • Georgia vs. Texas – 7:30 PM ET on ESPN 4K (HD simulcast on ABC and ESPN+)

When it comes to actually streaming those FOX Sports games live, fans will need to be subscribed to a live TV streaming service like YouTube TV, FuboTV, DirecTV Stream, or Sling TV (Sling Blue or Sling Orange+ Blue plans only, only FOX available in select TV markets on Sling TV), all of which will have a FOX 4K channel. Those who have YouTube TV will also need the 4K Plus add-on for an additional $9.99 per month.

Another way to stream the FOX Sports games in 4K, when available, whether on FOX or FS1, is through the FOX Sports app. Those using that route will need to log in with valid TV provider credentials in order to stream the games live and in 4K from that app.

For streaming the ESPN game (in this case the ABC game) in 4K, it is said to be done via ESPN 4K channels from YouTube TV, Sling TV and other live TV streaming services.

The FOX and ESPN 4K broadcast games have reportedly been “upscaled” from 1080p.

You’ll also need a compatible 4K streaming device like the Apple TV 4K to truly stream these games in 4K.
