Ariana Grande’s boyfriend Ethan Slater posed solo at the Los Angeles world premiere of their buzzy new film Wicked on Saturday.

The relationship between Slater, 32, and Grande, 31, began as a steady affair during the filming of their upcoming two-part film adaptation of the hit musical.

They fell into scandal over the fact that Slater was married to his now ex-wife Lilly Jay, who shares a toddler with him.

Now, a year after his romance with Grande, Slater was a deer when he hit the star-studded carpet of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

He was dressed according to the theme in a deep green jacket that appeared to be made of velvet or velour, paired with black trousers and a matching bow tie.

The 2003 Broadway musical Wicked, based on a novel by Gregory Maguire, told the backstory of the infamous Wicked Witch Of The West from The Wizard Of Oz.

The films will star Cynthia Erivo as the title character, with Grande as her best friend Galinda, who later becomes Glinda The Good Witch Of The North.

Meanwhile, Slater plays the hopelessly in love Boq, who pines unrequitedly for Galinda and ultimately meets a grotesque fate.

While Grande appeared at the premiere on Saturday night, she mainly posed next to Erivo rather than with her boyfriend.

Even as some attendees gathered for a few group photos, Slater and Grande stood noticeably far apart with five people between them.

Slater recently broke his silence about his romance with Grande and revealed what it was like to fall in love on the set of the highly anticipated film.

“It was obviously a really big year,” the Broadway star said in a new interview with GQ, which he shared in anticipation of the film.

“I think it was very difficult to have things in your private life commented on and viewed by the public,” he noted.

The actor and singer, who got his start in 2018’s SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, admitted that there were a lot of “big changes” going on in both his and Grande’s personal lives and that the speculation was “really difficult.”

“It’s really hard to have people who don’t know anything about what’s happening comment and speculate and then get things wrong about the people you love,” he admitted to GQ.

Despite being placed completely in the public eye and forced to endure endless speculation and judgment about his love life; Slater called it a “great year.”

“I’m just really excited,” he said, adding that it was “beautiful” to fall in love on set.

“I’m just really proud of Ari and the work she’s done on this,” the Broadway alum added, revealing the sweet nickname he has for his friend.

He went on to say that she “drew herself into it,” and he’s “really proud” that he was there for that part of it.

“I’m very excited to be there for this next step, when the world gets to see the amazing things she has done,” he added.

Following the backlash over their relationship timeline, the couple kept a relatively low profile.

In February, Grande admitted that she feels “an insatiable frustration” over the story surrounding her relationship with Slater.

Tackling the conversation surrounding her personal life, the Yes, And? singer told The Zach Sang Show, “I feel like we don’t have to go into details.

“But of course there is an insatiable frustration, an inexplicable, hellish feeling when you see how people misunderstand the people you love, and you and whatever.”
