And on the other side a pull-back runs to Hudson-Odoi, but he misses his kick completely.

An early chance for Arsenal while Saka’s shot falls to Trossard about six yards away, but his shot is saved. And then it all ends with a defensive free kick, after Trossard has been ruled offside.

BONG! The clock strikes three o’clock and the referee whistle sounds. Games on!

“From a strictly entertainment perspective The Bielsa ball is preferable to the Dyche siege football,” says Mary Waltz. “But he has kept us informed with his ultra-conservative football. The diet is boring, but it helps us avoid a relegation heart attack.” Well, we’ll see.

It’s all over in Leicester, and Chelsea have gained three points, moving them from third in the table to… er… still third in the table, but now closer to second. Leicester drops one place to 16th.

Leicester have pulled a goal back against Chelsea, from the penalty spot. Jordan Ayew converted with four seconds left of the pre-announced five-minute stoppage time.

“A home defeat against Brentford is exactly the kind of result that appears on the record of a relegated club in May,” notes Gary Naylor. “So is Sean Dyche exercising his trademark caution to avoid that, or does he see the match as an opportunity to cheer up the team and fans ahead of the Christmas fixtures and be expansive? To be honest, I’d score it 1-0 at this point with Michael Keane’s deflected header from a corner in the 88th minute. Although I suspect that I am in the minority among the Blue Noses.”

This is the only photo I received from Goodison Park today. I think it’s a big smile.

Real snow! Storm Bert has dumped some of the white stuff on Glasgow, but the Ibrox pitch just looks posh.

Storm Bert throws a spanner in the works

This just came in from PA Media:

Storm Bert has wreaked havoc on the domestic football calendar, with Blackburn’s Championship match against Portsmouth one of a number of fixtures cancelled.

Bradford’s League Two match against Accrington and Fleetwood’s game with MK Dons have also fallen victim to the weather.

In the National League, the derby between Rochdale and Oldham and Halifax’s meeting with Sutton are also over.

Storm Bert has brought heavy rain and strong winds across Britain, with amber warnings of snow and ice for parts of Scotland and northern England.

Blackburn called a pitch inspection at 11am and a statement on their X-feed said: “Due to an unplayable pitch caused by heavy rain, today’s match against Pompey at Ewood Park has been postponed by the match official.”

North of the border, Rangers’ Ladbrokes Premiership match with Dundee United was postponed 45 minutes to give the visitors extra time to travel to Ibrox with road delays expected.

Scotland’s lower leagues have been decimated by the weather, with only the Championship match between Ayr and Dunfermline, the League One match between Montrose and Annan and East Fife’s League Two trip to Edinburgh City surviving.
