The Arizona State football team continues its 2024 schedule today with a Big 12 Conference matchup against Kansas State.

Arizona State defeated UCF 35-31 last week. Kansas State was eliminated. It comes after a 24-19 loss to Houston on Nov. 2.

ASU football is 7-2 overall and 4-2 in Big 12 play. Kansas State is also 7-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

Arizona State has a 14-0 lead in the second quarter.

The connection between Sam Leavitt and Jordyn Tyson is paying off for the Sun Devils.

The ASU QB just completed a 30-yard pass to the wide receiver, taking a 14-0 lead for their second touchdown of the game.

ASU impressed on the drive, which went 11 plays and 67 yards. The Sun Devils converted three third-downs on possessions.

The Wildcats just went 3-and-out against the Sun Devils, gaining just three yards on their possession as they struggled to get anything going offensively.

Maybe Kansas State has a little rust after its week off? You have to give ASU some credit too. The Sun Devils pressured Avery Johnson, who went 3-for-6 for 18 yards.

The Sun Devils couldn’t capitalize on Kansas State’s turnover this time, as they had to punt after gaining just three yards on three plays.

Sam Leavitt is 2-for-5 for 14 yards to start this game, but one of the completions was a touchdown.

The Sun Devils ended the Wildcats’ first possession with an interception for a turnover.

They capped their second with a turnover on downs.

ASU stopped Kansas State on 3rd-and-1 and 4th-and-1 runs to get the ball back to the Wildcats’ 47. Kansas State gained 22 yards on their drive.

Kansas State has five carries for six total yards at the start of this game.

The Sun Devils took advantage of Kansas State’s turnover and scored a touchdown on an 11-yard pass from Sam Leavitt to Jordyn Tyson to take a 7–0 lead.

It took ASU six plays to go 49 yards and score. The ride took 2:58 of the clock.

ASU took advantage of a holding call on Kansas State after the Wildcats tackled Cam Skattebo for a 2-yard loss on a 3rd-and-3 at the Kansas State 8 on the drive.

The Sun Devils couldn’t have asked for a better start.

The Sun Devils deflected Avery Johnson’s first pass of the game and Xavion Alford intercepted it, committing a big turnover early in the game after the Wildcats started the opening possession.

The game will air on ESPNEWS while the SMU vs Boston College game will end on ESPN. ASU won the toss and advanced to the second half.

What’s at stake in today’s game between Arizona State and Kansas State?

The stakes are high in Manhattan, Kansas.

The Sun Devils and Wildcats are both 7-2 overall and 4-2 in Big 12 play, potentially making this game a de facto elimination game in the conference title race.

BYU sits atop the conference standings at 6-0. The Cougars host Kansas later today. Colorado is second in the conference at 6-1 after beating Utah earlier Saturday.

Iowa State and West Virginia are also currently 4-2 in conference play, tied with Kansas State and Arizona State.

The Cyclones host Cincinnati tonight, while West Virginia currently plays Baylor.

So yeah, this ASU-Kansas State game is big tonight.

Jordan Mendoza of USA TODAY Sports has ASU beating Kansas State and entering the Big 12 title race as his bold college football prediction today.

Kenny Dillingham deserves major support for what he is accomplishing. with the Sun Devils. After a 3-9 first season, he is 7-2 this time around with a strong running game complemented by solid quarterback play. Arizona State visits a Kansas State team that has been a little shaky lately. As good as the Wildcats are at stopping the run, Cam Skattebo and company are finding holes and pushing through for a big road win. At 8-2 and 5-2 in conference play, Arizona State jumps into the playoff rankings and heads for a big win. -time showdown with Brigham Young with a chance to make the conference title game.”

ASU running back Cam Skattebo is expected back for the Sun Devils against Kansas State after missing last week’s win over UCF with an injury.

Skattebo has 1,001 rushing yards for Arizona State this season and 404 receiving yards. He has 11 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns this season.

Needless to say, he is a very important part of the Sun Devils offense and will give them a boost in their attempt to upset Kansas State on the road.

The Sun Devils will wear their white uniforms today for their Big 12 college football game against Kansas.

The Wildcats wear their purple home uniform.

The game will air on ESPN at 5:00 PM MST time.

Dave Flemming (play-by-play) and Brock Osweiler (analyst) will be the announcers for the Big 12 Conference game.

According to BetMGM Sportsbook, Kansas State is a 7.5-point favorite over Arizona State in Week 12 college football odds for the game.

The Wildcats are at -300 on the moneyline, while the Sun Devils are +240.

The over/under for the game is set at 51.5 points.

ESPN today gives Kansas State a 74.5% chance to beat ASU football in the Week 12 college football game.

Other sites are also leaning toward the Wildcats in the Big 12 showdown.
