HAMPTON, Ga. — Austin Hill won the Xfinity race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, sweeping every event in the season-long series there.

It was Hill’s third win of the season, but the first since he opened the season with victories at Daytona and Atlanta in February.

Parker Kligerman matched his best performance ever by finishing second. AJ Allmendinger was third for his best result of the year. Chandler Smith was fourth and Corey Heim finished fifth.

With less than 20 laps to go, Justin Allgaier and Cole Custer ran side by side and made contact, blowing out Allgaier’s right front tire and causing a crash involving Taylor Gray, Riley Herbst, Jesse Love and Ryan Sieg. He started the race as the first driver outside of a playoff spot, having come back from a two-lap deficit due to electrical issues.

“I checked it and I couldn’t check enough for them in front of me,” Sieg said. “That’s about all I could do.”

Sieg entered the race 10 points behind Sammie Smith for the final playoff spot. Sieg left Atlanta 44 points behind Smith, who finished seventh.

Side drafting at Atlanta leads to Xfinity big one

Justin Allgaier and Cole Custer come into light contact on the backstretch while side drafting in Atlanta, and the No. 7 is unable to reach the corner, resulting in a major disaster in Atlanta.
