Veteran actor Atul Parchure passes away at the age of 57

Veteran actor Atul Parchure, known for his roles in The Kapil Sharma Show, passed away on October 14 at the age of 57. He had been battling cancer in recent years. The talented actor passed away today (October 14). His remarkable comedic timing and contributions to the entertainment industry will be fondly remembered.
In an interview with ABP Mazha, Marathi actor Jaywant Wadkar expressed his grief over Atul’s demise. Knowing each other since childhood, Jaywant shared that Atul’s next project was a play called Suryachi Pillay. He also said that they had rehearsed together before Atul was admitted to hospital five days ago.
Atul Parchure was a versatile actor known for his exceptional comic timing and memorable performances across platforms. He made his mark in both television and films and played prominent roles in popular comedy shows like RK Laxman Ki Duniya, Jaago Mohan Pyaare, Yam Hain Hum, Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hain, The Kapil Sharma Show and several Marathi serials.
Last year, during an interview with a YouTube channel, Atul revealed that doctors had found a 5cm tumor in his liver in 2023.
In addition to his television presence, he appeared in Hindi and Marathi films, where his ability to combine humor with relatable characters endeared him to audiences. His contribution to the entertainment industry, especially in comedy, has left a lasting legacy.
In an interview with Bombay Times in July last year, the RK Laxman Ki Duniya actor had revealed that accepting his cancer diagnosis came easy for him. “I was mentally prepared that something was wrong with me. Although he remained positive, the lack of work gave him ‘sleepless nights’. It’s not that negative thoughts didn’t cross my mind. I have had many sleepless nights worrying about when I would go back to work. On the one hand, revenues stopped while expenses began, and the cost of treating cancer is enormous.”
In the same interview, he emphasized the importance of Mediclaim, which helped him keep financial burdens under control. “Mediclaim, together with my savings, partly saved me; otherwise it would have been very difficult. I never felt depressed because my family never treated me like a patient,” he said at the time.
