Bafana star abandons Kaizer Chiefs dream for continental football!

Imperial Chiefs will have to cross another transfer target off their first transfer list for next season.

This comes after one of their top targets decides not to join the Chiefs, despite being a fan as a child.

Chiefs were interested in Mokwana

It’s no secret that Chiefs are big admirers of Sekhukhune United winger Elias Mokwana. The player is also said to be an Amakhosi fan and wanted to join the club ahead of the match. Mamelodi sunsets local. However, due to its impressive performance for Bafana Bafanawhere he has become a starter, more clubs have noticed! These clubs also come from outside the country. The last ones are Tunisian giants Esperancewho have since accepted an improved offer for the player’s services.

After initial reports that Esperance had agreed a fee with Sekhukhune were debunked, Chiefs still seemed to be in the mix. It was thought that Mokwana and the Babina Noko hierarchy were waiting for Chiefs to improve their offer so that the player could make his dream come true. However, that offer does not seem to have materialized.

According to FARPost Mokwana flew out of the country and landed in Tunisia on Sunday. He is expected to undergo his medical in Esperance soon, dashing any hopes of Chiefs signing him.

Esperance won the race for his signature

“Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana will fly to Tunisia today to complete his transfer to Esperance Sportive de Tunis. The winger is expected to undergo a medical upon arrival in Tunisia before officially joining his new club for the upcoming season. The move is being seen as a major win for Esperance, who beat off competition from several DStv Premiership clubs to land the promising South African talent. The Tunisian giants beat Kaizer Chiefs to the speedy winger’s signature. Mokwana was a prime target for Nasreddine Nabi’s Chiefs. However, his club favoured the terms offered by the North African giants. The move means that the man nicknamed Kiddeo will play CAF Champions League football next season. Bafana coach Hugo Broos will be following his progress with keen interest,” the publication wrote.

It’s now time for the draw for Chiefs after missing out on Mokwana. Khosi fans, how do you feel about missing out on the 24-year-old? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
