Bears QB Caleb Williams sets franchise season rookie record

Caleb Williams set the Chicago Bears franchise record for most passing yards in a season by a starting quarterback in his 11th start of the season. The No. 1 overall pick went to work this week just 178 yards shy of passing Mitchell Trubisky’s 2,193-set total in 2017, breaking the record with a 37-yard screen pass to wide receiver DJ Moore. That game put him at 2,229 yards on the season.

Williams has had a solid game so far, making big plays on the court for the likes of Keenan Allen and D’Andre Swift. In the third quarter, Williams has completed 18 of 25 passes for 213 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions, with a quarterback rating of 98.4. In the second half, the Bears trail the Vikings 17-10.
