Bears vs. Patriots – Lineups, inactives, how to watch, more

It’s a shame that the Chicago Bears are going through turbulent times right now, because this should have been the week we delved into the Caleb Williams vs. Drake Maye showdown. Williams and Maye were two of the top quarterbacks selected in last April’s NFL Draft. And with all the noise this week has brought us, I’m looking forward to the matchup between two signal callers that their respective teams will look to build around for years to come.

For what it’s worth, Drake Maye is looking forward to it too. It turns out that these two are good friends:

“You spend a lot of time with those guys, you see them sometimes visiting, some at the Combine,” Maye said, via Pro Football Talk. “With Caleb, I’ve been seeing him since high school. We went to the same camps, we were in Elite 11 together, we had a few college visits together. We go through the process again. We were friends in college, I enjoyed watching him do his thing, and now we get a chance to compete. Anytime you play against a rookie quarterback in the same league, it’s a little extra. I’m looking forward to going there and having the opportunity to play against the Bears.”

Matchups between Caleb Williams and Drake Maye won’t happen often. With the Bears playing in the NFC North and the Patriots competing in the AFC East, these games don’t appear on the schedule very often. So we might as well enjoy it while we can.
