The season isn’t over yet for the Cincinnati Bengals, at least not technically.

But when we zoom out and really think about the implications of that 0-3 start, it doesn’t look good.

Since 1990 and the expanded playoff field, 162 teams have started a season 0-3. Only four of them have actually made the playoffs:

• 1992 Chargers
• 1995 Lions
• Accounts from 1998
• Texans 2018

That’s…2.4 percent, with only one of the four actually winning a playoff game upon arrival.

Now we can point out things like Joe Burrows offense that looks fantastic. And they Doing are playing a schedule with a fourth place finish after last year’s finish, so they can do well.

But… it’s hard to see that after Monday night’s game, when they allowed a rookie passer to score 38 offensive points at Paycor Stadium without a point in sight.

Team building issues, compounded by injuries, are ruining the season for the Bengals team, which is getting fantastic play out of Burrow.
