    One of the best high school football rivalries in New Jersey writes a new chapter on Friday night.

    Bergen Catholic (10-1) and Don Bosco (8-3) meet Friday night in the Non-Public A state championship game.

    These teams met in the Non-Public A finals in 2021 and 2022, with Bergen Catholic winning both times. The Crusaders are going for a fourth consecutive program-record title.

    The match is tied at 0-0 in the first quarter. Check back throughout the game for updates.

    After getting a first down on their first play from scrimmage, Bergen Catholic went backwards and was forced to punt. Don Bosco starts his first drive near midfield.

    Don Bosco’s last win in the series came during the 2022 regular season, a 31-7 win. The Crusaders avenged that loss two months later 45-0 in the state finals.

    Bergen Catholic won the regular season games last season and this season. The Crusaders held on to win this season’s match 24-20.
