Beyonce and Charli XCX lead the 2025 awards

Not that the most awarded artist in the history of the Grammys needs a coronation, but Beyoncé could get one anyway.

The multihyphenate superstar, already acclaimed with 32 Grammys, leads the nominations for the 67e annual Grammy Awards with 11 for her national album “Cowboy Carter,” most notably being recognized for Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“Texas Hold ‘Em”).

Following Beyoncé on the nomination list, Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone all join the club with seven nods. They are followed by a trio of artists who each scored six nominations: Taylor Swift and Grammy World newcomers Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.

This year’s awards ceremony will take place on February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.

The exceptionally diverse list of nominees for the 2025 ceremony sees André 3000 and Jacob Collier competing for album of the year alongside Beyoncé, Carpenter, Charli xcx, Swift, Eilish and Roan, while top new artists Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, Doechii are. , Khruangbin, RAYE, Shaboozey, Timmerman and Roan.

Those looking for veterans can salute the inclusion of the AI-produced “Now and Then” by The Beatles (record of the year, best rock performance) and the Rolling Stones (best rock album, “Hackney Diamonds”).

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, attributes the zigzagging of genres to the Recording Academy’s 13,000 voting members, a group that has diversified since 2019 with 66% new voters, including 3,000 women.

The days when “people thought it was three old guys in the back closet” coming up with nominations are over, Mason tells USA TODAY. “Our voters put their heart and soul into their work… The trend I see is excellence. There is so much great music on this year’s list.”
