TWO major fitness influencers were involved in a nasty clash that was caught on video at a gym.

Fitness gurus Jeff Nippard and Mike Van Wyck came face to face in a heated confrontation that has now gone viral on social media.

Nippard is known for his science-based approach to bodybuilding, which the Canadian social star is proud of 5.8 MILLION subscribers on YouTube.

While Van Wyck’s training content has helped him amass more than 289,000 Instagram followers.

The pair appeared to clash at a Pure Muscle and Fitness gym in Canada, with video showing Van Wyck forcibly grabbing Nippard by the neck and pushing him to the ground.

It is suggested that the change stemmed from a video posted on Van Wyck’s social media entitled “science-based scams”.

In the video, Van Wyck said: “Scientists really need to answer this question first: why do you remain so mediocre, even though you know so much?”

Nipping later responded to that video with his own thoughts on his Instagram page.

And he has since given his version of events at the gym in a separate post after uploading a photo of himself in a hospital with a CT scanner.

He wrote: “If you have seen the video by now, I would like to clarify the incident. First off, I just wanted to give an update that I had a CT scan done and I’m doing well.

“In case you haven’t seen it, this is exactly what happened and there were many witnesses. Mike Van Wyck stabbed me in the throat twice in the middle of the gym and then pushed my cameraman.

“There’s already a lie going around that Mike asked me to stay away from him, and that I didn’t listen and approached him first. This is FALSE and @puremuscleandfitness has security footage to prove it. I think they should release it.”

Nipping further claimed that the incident occurred after the pair exchanged words at the gym, with Van Wyck also “shoving his videographer into a cable machine.”

He added: “I don’t know why he attacked me other than he really, really hates my training style.

‘I gave him absolutely no reason to hate me. And even if I did, there is no excuse for physically attacking someone over a disagreement.

“My opinion is that this was a result of the anger caused by the clip I posted yesterday in response to his question about science-based training. Pretty wild stuff.”

Pure Muscle and Fitness Gym have also released their own statement since the incident, apparently claiming Van Wyck has been banned from the premises.

It said: “At Pure Muscle + Fitness we have a strict zero-tolerance policy towards violence and bullying.

“We are deeply saddened by a recent incident involving unacceptable behavior by a member.

“This individual was not employed or formally associated with our gym, and we have permanently removed their access to our facility, including all rights to train clients.

“Our hearts go out to the affected members and we fully support their well-being.

“The safety of our community is our top priority and we strive to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.

“The matter is currently under investigation by police and we are cooperating fully with the authorities.”
