Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-2 Germany: Deniz Undav scores twice

Deniz Undav scored twice as Germany defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Nations League.

The Stuttgart striker gave Germany the lead with a fine first finish after Florian Wirtz’s dismissal.

Moments later, a goal by debutant Tim Kleindienst was disallowed for offside.

Bosnia had a great chance to level the score, but Ermedin Demirovic crashed his shot onto the post.

And shortly afterwards, ex-Brighton man Undav scored from Maximilian Mittelstadt’s cross to double Germany’s lead.

It was his third international goal as he earned only his fifth cap – and his second start.

Undav thought he had a hat-trick – and Serge Gnabry had the ball in the net – but both attempts were ruled out for offside.

And Edin Dzeko, 38, gave Bosnia hope with a fine header from eight yards out.

But the hosts could not find an equalizer in Zenica.
