Brady Cook injury status change, plus Alabama football availability report ahead of Missouri

Friday night’s Alabama football availability report had no changes, but there was a notable injury update for Missouri quarterback Brady Cook.

Cook, the starting quarterback, was upgraded from questionable to questionable on Friday night according to the official availability report. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Cook will “try to step up and play”

Cook had to leave last weekend’s game against Auburn with an ankle injury before eventually returning to the game and beating the Tigers at Faurot Field. If Cook can’t go, Missouri could turn to Drew Pyne, a former Notre Dame and Arizona State quarterback.

Meanwhile, Missouri running back Nate Noel will officially be out for the game.

On the Alabama side, the Crimson Tide listed starting safety Keon Sabb as out, as he did earlier this week. According to Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer, he will be “down for a while.” Bray Hubbard is expected to fill his spot. Red Morgan is still likely for the game after suffering an injury during the Tennessee game; He rotates with DeVonta Smith at the Husky spot.

No. 15 Alabama faces No. 21 Missouri on Saturday (2:45 p.m. CT, ABC) at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
