Braelon Allen Impacts NFL Draft Process After Fourth-Round Exit

Braelon Allen has been a bright spot for the Jets over the past three weeks, giving him the opportunity to share his thoughts on the NFL draft process.

In three games, he has carried the ball 19 times for 96 yards, more than five yards each, with two touchdowns.

It seems like every time he gets the ball he throws defenders over.

After Allen looked impressive again on Thursday night as the Jets defeated the Patriots, one X user seriously wondered, “How the hell did @BraelonAllen fall to the fourth round?”

Allen, who was the star at Wisconsin, responded, “Everybody wanted to see me run in my underwear to determine if I was a good football player.”

Allen skipped the athletic portion of the scouting combine, forgoing the 40-yard dash, three-cone drills and shuttle.

He ranked near the bottom of the league in the vertical and long jump and also dropped passes during simulated rushes.

Despite amassing 3,494 yards on 597 rushes (good for 35 scores on the ground) in three seasons with the Badgers, forces conspired to land the 6-foot-1, 240-pound prospect at 134th overall, a compensatory pick for Gang Green.

During Amazon’s Thursday broadcast, Al Michaels noted that Aaron Rodgers raved about Allen during production meetings, saying the quarterback told him the rookie running back is extra excited about getting to the NFL level.

Breece Hall, the Jets’ star running back, spoke to The Post earlier this week about how Allen has picked up the game at the professional level.

“(Allen) was shy and quiet at first. And then he realized how much I was fooling around, how crazy I was,” Hall said. “I feel like he’s developed a little bit quicker than I did my rookie year. … He’s really smart, understands the offense from a whole standpoint now. It’s just great to see him get some (opportunities). The ops he’s gotten, he’s played ball, so I’m definitely proud of him.”

Allen was glad that Hall taught him the tricks of the trade.

“You couldn’t ask for a better situation to step in with a guy like Breece,” Allen said. “The success that he had early in his career was obviously something that I wanted to follow. So you couldn’t ask for a better person to have in your corner.”
