Broncos WR Josh Reynolds is recovering from two gunshot wounds he suffered last week

Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds is recovering from two gunshot wounds after he and another man were shot in the Denver area last Friday.

“Josh Reynolds was the victim of a shooting in Denver on Friday and was treated for minor injuries,” the Broncos said in a statement Thursday. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

Denver police said they have arrested two men in connection with the shootings, which happened around 3 a.m. on Oct. 18 along a stretch of Interstate 25 south of downtown. Both suspects are being held for investigation of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

According to Denver Police, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and detectives are working to identify any additional suspects.

Reynolds is currently on injured reserve with a broken finger and did not travel with the Broncos to New Orleans for their Thursday night win over the Saints on October 17. Players on IR are not available to talk to reporters.

Reynolds is in his first season with the Broncos after signing a two-year, $9 million contract last offseason. The veteran WR has played in five games and produced 12 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown.

Reynolds spent the past three seasons with Detroit. He also played for the Titans and the Rams, who drafted him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M.
