Broncos WR Josh Reynolds shot twice after leaving the strip club

Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was shot twice after leaving Shotgun Willie’s strip club in Glendale, Colorado on October 18, according to a report from 9News’ Janet Oravetz.

Reynolds, 29, and two other men were followed by several vehicles from the strip club and shot. Reynolds was shot in the arm and the back of the head. Another man was shot in the back and a third man was injured by shattered class.

The three men were in a blue Ford Bronco when the shooting occurred. When their vehicle would no longer move, they fled and climbed over a fence. Police responded to their 911 calls.

According to court documents obtained by 9News, the three victims said no incidents had occurred at the strip club prior to the shooting.

Denver police announced Wednesday that Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza had been arrested in the case. Video footage showed Mendoza watching Reynolds and the two other men in the club and following them as they left. Three vehicles followed the victims as they left.

Reynolds is already on injured reserve with a finger injury. He was eligible to return from that injury in Week 10, but the wounds from this shooting could delay the receiver’s potential return to the field.

Before going to IR, Reynolds had 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown in five games this season. He signed a two-year, $9 million deal with the Broncos this spring.

The team released the following statement Thursday: “Josh Reynolds was the victim of a shooting in Denver on Friday and was treated for minor injuries. Out of respect for the legal process, we will leave further comment on this matter to the authorities.”
