Celtics vs. Hawks preview, TV, time, injury report

The Celtics welcome the Hawks to Boston on Tuesday for the first of four group games in the soccer tournament, which will then be reduced to an eight-team knockout round.

Boston will host the still-undefeated Cavaliers on November 19, then visit the Wizards (November 22) and Bulls (November 29) – the latter perhaps remembering last year’s group final, when the Celtics continued to slug it out in a 27 points win they needed to claim a points difference tiebreak.

The group games still count as regular-season games, and it’s a good time for the Celtics to face Atlanta, which has lost seven of nine after a 2-0 start. That includes a 30-point home loss to the Celtics on Nov. 4.

Atlanta’s task will become even more difficult with star guard Trae Young already ruled out due to right Achilles tendonitis.

Both Al Horford (left big toe sprain) and Jayson Tatum (left ankle sprain) are listed as questionable to play.
