The Champions League has a new format for 2024-2025. Forget the group tables, we now have a 36-team league stage before reaching the knockout stages in February. But who has the best chance of qualifying for the knockout stages, directly or through the play-off round? Throughout the season we will publish projections – powered by data from Opta – to show how teams are expected to perform. These are updated after each game week. When the competition phase is over, there are chances of reaching the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The expanded format of the competition may take some time to get used to, but these projections can show you how it could all play out.
