    ‘ChatGPT is down’: Sam Altman apologizes after AI chatbot goes down, saying ‘we are much better than…’

    OpenAI CEO Sam Altman apologized on X (formerly Twitter) after his company’s flagship AI chatbot, ChatGPT, went down for 30 minutes today. According to outage tracking website Downdetector, more than 19,000 people were affected by the chatbot’s unavailability.

    In a post on He wrote: “chatgpt was offline for 30 minutes today 🙁 we are much, much better at reliability than we used to be, but clearly we have more work ahead of us. (it is now the 8th largest website in the world according to similar web –we have a lot of work to do over the past two years!)”
