Courtesy of iFixit, a new teardown video of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold reveals what Shahram Mokhtari of the repairability advocacy organization calls “the most exciting foldable phone we’ve ever seen on the iFixit teardown table.”

iFixit offers very clear shots of the phone’s internals in the video and accompanying blog post , along with some very detailed Lumafield CT scans of the foldable phone. Mokhtari notes in the video that Google offers official repair guides and replacement parts for the phone.

iFixit found impressive modularity in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, including easily removable wearable components like the USB-C port and SIM card tray, and the site praised the use of 3IP screws throughout. The repair experts were also able to peel off the outer display and rear case using only pry tools — no heat gun required.

The only criticism iFixit has is that the 4.68 Wh and 13.4 Wh batteries were impossible to remove with the pull tabs underneath. Mokhtari also noted that he couldn’t remove the folding display without destroying it.
