Chelsea set the Conference League record with an 8-0 defeat against FC Noah

Chelsea set a UEFA Conference League record at Stamford Bridge on Thursday with an emphatic 8-0 win over Armenian side FC Noah.

João Félix and Christopher Nkunku each scored twice for the Premier League club, who were six goals ahead at the break. Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Axel Disasi and Mykhailo Mudryk scored the other goals as Chelsea recorded the biggest win in the competition’s history.

The previous largest margin of victory in the Conference League, starting in 2021, was six goals.

The result also equals the second biggest win in Chelsea’s history. The club’s biggest win remains a 13–0 victory over Hungarian side Jeunesse Hautcharage in 1971.

Chelsea sit at the top of the Conference League stage standings with a maximum of nine points from three games.

The home crowd only had to wait until the 12th minute for the opening goal when Adarabioyo headed in a corner before the second came a minute later, with Guiu intercepting a poor defensive pass before firing the ball home.

Another header from a corner came after 18 minutes via Alex Disasi and in the 21st, Portuguese Félix received a pass from Enzo Fernández and slid his shot under the keeper.

Mudryk curled a beautiful shot into the top corner six minutes before half-time to make it five, and Félix scored his second two minutes later.

After six goals in the first half, Chelsea took their foot off the accelerator, but Frenchman Nkunku managed to score a brace by tapping in a rebound after his first shot was saved in the 69th minute and converting a penalty seven minutes later .
