1. Protect Caleb Williams

It is imperative to keep the rookie quarterback upright in his first regular season game. Give Caleb Williams the time and space to lead the offense and, if he needs to, the chance to create as he is known.

2. Create pressure from all angles

The Bears defensive line had four players on the injury report Friday. If that unit is undermanned, Matt Eberflus and Eric Washington will have to create pressure elsewhere. We’ve seen the Bears blitz at every level of the defense this offseason. They’ll need to be successful in that endeavor on Sunday.

3. Start on the right foot

In every sense, the Bears want to forget how Week 1 went last season. They can do that by starting strong. The best way to do that is to execute well, play within the system they’ve spent the entire preseason and camp establishing, and rely on the veteran roster that general manager Ryan Poles has assembled.
