The Indianapolis Colts are one of several NFL teams with an 0-2 record hoping to win and enter Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears as very slight favorites.

The biggest story here will be the matchup between two young quarterbacks, with Indianapolis’ Anthony Richardson (last year’s No. 4 overall pick) going up against Chicago’s Caleb Williams (this year’s No. 1 overall pick). Both quarterbacks have experienced some of the expected growing pains that come with playing the position at the highest level, but both also have the potential and talent to take over a game at any given moment.

But as notable as that matchup is, the game could ultimately come down to the Bears offensive line vs. Colts defensive line matchup. Through two games, the Colts’ run defense has been absolutely battered by both the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers, allowing a league-worst 237 rushing yards per game. No other team in the league is allowing more than 200 yards per game on the ground. Add in an injury to defensive tackle DeForest Buckner , and things could get even grimmer on that front.

It could be a big opportunity for the Bears to land free agent D’Andre Swift, who has only 48 yards on 24 carries thus far. An effective running game could take some pressure off Williams, who is coming off a game in Houston where he was physically battered due to the lack of protection in front of him. If the Bears’ offensive line can’t control this game, it’s questionable whether they ever will this season.
