AC Milan started their Champions League campaign fantastically against Premier League giants Liverpool.

The Rossoneri took the lead from the opening minutes and the team struck first with a quick counterattack, which was overshadowed by US national team forward Christian Pulisic.

Milan manager Paulo Fonseca opted to give experienced striker Álvaro Morata the starting position up front, given his experience in big Champions League matches. The former Chelsea striker held the ball well near midfield before setting up Pulisic through on goal.

The American sprinted down the right with teammates on his left, but Pulisic opted to test Alisson on his favoured right foot and scored his third goal of the season with a low finish into the far corner.

It was a deserved goal for the home side, after a strong start to the match at San Siro.

Pulisic was the second USMNT player to score on the day in the Champions League, after Weston McKennie scored for Juventus against PSV. Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased with how two of his top players are already performing in Europe.
