Clemson leads Wake Forest 28-14 at halftime in a closer game than expected

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers lead Wake Forest 28-14 heading into the locker room for halftime.

It was a slow start for the Tigers, who looked like a team that took Lake Forest a bit to start the game. Trailing 7-0 early in the game, Clemson’s offense didn’t score any points in the first quarter for the first time since week one. The Tigers needed to bounce back, and that’s exactly what they did.

It started with a 22-yard touchdown pass from starting quarterback Cade Klubnik to star wide receiver Antonio Williams. A pair of bad Wake Forest interceptions led to two rushing touchdowns, with Clemson leading the Demon Deacons 21-14 with a few minutes left in the second quarter.

To avoid going into the half on their heels, Nick put together a great final driver of the half. Clemson connects with Troy Stellato on an 8-yard touchdown pass and enters the locked room with a 28 to 14 lead. The Tigers offense continues to look strong, but there are some serious concerns on my part about this Clemson -defense.
