Cleveland Browns move to Brook Park

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland Browns are moving to Brook Park, 19 News has confirmed.

While the team’s lease on Huntington Bank Field expires in 2028, the Browns will build a state-of-the-art facility in Brook Park.

The city of Cleveland has not yet commented on the news. Officials will hold a news conference on Oct. 17 at 2:30 p.m.

Earlier this year, the Cleveland Browns shared their vision for Brook Park.

Construction of the new stadium, including a dome, is estimated to cost at least $2 billion.

From a sporting perspective, there are two things to consider: one on the field and one off the field. When it comes to the field, this will likely eliminate bad weather to the point where it will have a major impact on a match.

That will upset some fans, but 19 News’ Mark Schwab thinks that’s downright overrated these days.

A few years ago, the New Orleans Saints came into town on a day when the wind was about 40 degrees below zero. It was a team from the south that is used to playing indoors. But they beat the Browns.

If it is a retractable roof, you can still have it open on nice days and feel outside. When it’s closed, it creates a home field advantage because it’s just louder.

Mark said the loudest game he’s ever been to was in Houston on a day when the roof was closed.

“It was incredibly loud. That can only help the Browns,” he said.

Not many people on the team have said much about this.

However, when pressed about the issue in West Virginia, General Manager Andrew Berry said he would rather be indoors because it was simply better for the players.

Off the field, this puts the city of Cleveland in the market to potentially host a Super Bowl or the Final Four.

Some people may roll their eyes when they hear about the Super Bowl in Cleveland, but Detroit has hosted two Super Bowls and even Jacksonville has hosted a Super Bowl.

If they can get Super Bowls, Mark said he doesn’t know why Cleveland couldn’t get one.
