OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Thursday is a 6 First Alert Weather Day as a cold front moves in to push in the warm, humid air we’ll be in all day. Highs will reach the low 90s this afternoon with dew points high enough on the moisture gauge to send our heat index into the high 90s.

A localized storm is possible from 13:00, before the cold front moves in. These will not be widespread, but could also have some hail and wind. The more organized line of storms along the front is likely after 18:00, diving from the northwest.

That when the large hail and wind potential is a little bit higher. The tornado threat is very low and probably northeast of our area.

The storms are expected to die down by midnight and cooler, less humid air will move into the country from the northwest over the weekend.

The forecast for the Husker opener is warm but not too humid, with a nice start in the 60s expected for morning tailgaters as well.
