    College football scores, highlights: Colorado survives scare in season opener against North Dakota State

    Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes certainly didn’t want to make their home game that exciting, but they still won.

    Colorado held off a tough opponent in North Dakota State, thanks to stellar performances from Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, winning their first game of the season 31-26.

    Sanders finished with 445 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hunter caught three of the TDs and had 132 receiving yards. Jimmy Horn also had 7 catches for 198 yards and a touchdown.

      It became a Hail Mary and NDSU caught the ball, but fell 5 yards short of the goal line.

      Cam Miller runs in from 20 yards out to cut Colorado’s lead with just over 2 minutes left, but they fail to score on the 2-point conversion.

    • The Bison close in on the red zone, but a deep sack pushes them closer to midfield. Time is running out.

      It was a close call for the Wolfpack, who trailed as favorites by 32.5 points in the fourth quarter, but NC State outscored WCU 21-0 in the fourth quarter to take the win.

      It’s Travis Hunter AGAIN! That was clearly his best catch of the night, contested and pushed down when he caught it. It’s his third TD catch. Check it out:

    • The Buffs approach the NDSU red zone with a methodical drive of their own, reaching the 30 with just over 12 minutes left in the game.

    • The Utes are rolling in Salt Lake City. Cam Rising is 10-15 for 254 yards and 5 touchdowns as the game heads to the half. His last game was the Rose Bowl at the end of the 2022 season.

      The Buffs have the ball and a first down on home turf to start the fourth quarter.

      Jordan Waters makes his way into the endzone for a 7-yard touchdown and it looks like the Wolfpack will avoid disaster here. 6:32 to play.

    • However, NDSU’s drive fails and Colorado gets the ball back at its own 20-yard line.

    • The Bisons are back on the march, having just passed midfield with just under 3 minutes left in the third quarter.

    • NC State 24, Western Carolina 21

      NC State fans can take a breather. KC Concepcion with a nice 35-yard catch and run touchdown to give the Wolfpack the lead early in the 4th.

      Concepcion scored all three of NC State’s touchdowns.

    • Landing in Colorado!

      It’s Travis Hunter again. The two-way star shakes off his defender and plants his feet in the end zone to put the Buffs back on top.

    • Shedeur Sanders goes deep again to Jimmy Horn for a 44-yard pass and the Buffs are back in the red zone.
