    College football scores, results: Oregon’s wild win over Ohio State tops another chaotic day

    We knew it would be hard for week 7 to match the drama of week 6, but it was almost as intense.

    In the big matchup of the day, No. 3 Oregon defeated No. 2 Ohio State 32-31 in a back-and-forth heavyweight tilt in Eugene. The Big Ten showdown was the first top-three matchup of the season and delivered every turn with plenty of lead changes and a dramatic finish.

    And in perhaps Saturday’s most exciting game, No. 13 LSU came back to beat No. 9 Mississippi on a Garrett Nussmeier TD throw in overtime. It was a crucial result in a busy SEC title race as we reach the halfway point of this year’s college football season.

    And to cap off the night, No. 18 Kansas State held on to beat Colorado 31-28 after a wild finish in Boulder.

    Earlier in the day, No. 7 Alabama suffered another nail-biter at home against South Carolina. The Crimson Tide needed some late-game defensive heroics to survive against the Gamecocks in a 27-25 victory. Later, No. 4 Penn State needed a comeback of its own before pulling out a 33-30 victory in overtime at the Coliseum.

    Meanwhile, the No. 1 team in the country left no doubt as to how the Red River Rivalry matchup with Oklahoma would go. The Longhorns allowed an early field goal before scoring 34 straight points in a loss at the Cotton Bowl.

    • Final: Kansas State 31, Colorado 28

      Another dramatic finish for a Colorado team made famous by them. This time, number 18 Kansas State comes out on top. Wildcats improve to 5-1 and the Buffs fall to 4-2. And the Big 12 remains wide open.

    • Colorado turns it around on downs!

      Shedeur Sanders’ pass to the sideline is incomplete. There was some contact and the Buffs wanted a PI call. No dice. Kansas State can kneel this one for the win.

    • K-State answers with a TD!

      That was fast. The Wildcats go 84 yards in just 3 plays, finished with Avery Johnson’s 50-yard bomb to Jayce Brown. 2:14 left and Kansas State leads 31-28.

    • Colorado takes the lead!

      Shedeur Sanders to LaJohntay Wester for the score! The Buffs take the lead with less than 4 minutes to play!

      The Buffs are in business after Colton Hood picked Avery Johnson and led it all the way back to the Kansas State 20!

    • Colorado Touchdown!

      Isaiah Augustave runs the ball in from 2 yards out and Colorado cuts Kansas State’s lead to 24-21.

    • Interception by the State of Kansas!

      Shedeur Sanders sailed a ball over his intended receiver and VJ Payne was there to pick it off in the end zone. Kansas State ends a promising ride in Colorado.

      Chris Tennant’s 48-yard field goal puts Kansas State back ahead by 10.

    • Colorado Touchdown!

      The Buffaloes answer with a needed score as Shedeur Sanders throws a fastball to Will Sheppard in the back of the end zone.

      Kansas State’s lead was cut to one score.

    • Touchdown K-state!

      Avery Johnson returns to the game and runs a touchdown pass to Jayce Brown from the 1.

      Double good news for the Wildcats, who lead Colorado by two touchdowns in the third quarter.

    • Injuries are piling up at K-State-Colorado

      Now, Kansas State QB Avery Johnson has left the game with an injury.

      He completed a deep pass and went down without being hit. He was seen returning to the locker room.

      Speaking of Heisman candidates, Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty is already on the road against Hawaii.

      He’s already run for over 100 yards, including this 54-yard TD run.

    • Travis Hunter leaves with an injury

      Development situation in Boulder. Colorado star and Heisman hopeful WR/DB Travis Hunter left the locker room late in the first half with a shoulder injury. Colorado trails Kansas State 14-7 at the half.

    • TOUCHDOWN LSU!!!

      Garrett Nussmeier finds Kyren Lacy on the first play of LSU’s overtime possession for a 25-yard score and IT’S OVER PEOPLE!

      What a win for LSU!

    • Ole Miss saved by 57-yard FG on first OT possession

      The Rebels moved back to the 40-yard line with their possession, but kicker Caden Davis made a huge save for them with a 57-yard FG to take the lead in overtime.

      Now it’s LSU’s turn.

    • Ole Miss gets the ball first in overtime and immediately backs down with a holding penalty and an incompletion. The rebels are not okay.

    • LSU-Ole Miss went to OT

      The Rebels had a chance to get the ball into field goal range with seconds left on the clock in regulation, but LSU’s defense holds and we go into overtime.

    • Touchdown State Kansas!

      Wildcats take lead on Dylan Edwards’ 1-yard TD run.

      It’s a 14-7 K-State lead over Colorado with less than 2 minutes left in the first half.

    • TOUCHDOWN LSU!

      Garrett Nussmeier finds Aaron Anderson across the middle with a perfect throw on fourth-and-5 and the extra point is good to tie the score at 23!
