Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS appears in the night sky

Head out just after sunset to see the unique comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS

As far as most are concerned, Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS will likely be most visible in the evening sky during a two-week window beginning October 12 and running through October 26. By then the comet will be the largest visible object. in the solar system and closest to Earth beyond the moon. (Source: Space.com)

The comet will appear on the western horizon after sunset

Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS was imaged by the NASA/SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) coronagraph

The comet’s appearance coincided with a powerful solar flare and a pair of coronal mass ejections (CME).
