The 58th annual CMA Awards show will be broadcast live by ABC from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Scroll down to see the 2024 winners as they will be named over the course of the three-hour show.

Chris Stapleton won the first two awards of the night, single of the year and song of the year, for ‘White Horse’. “So many great and very, very popular songs in this category,” Stapleton said as he accepted the previous award, pointing to a triumph over singles as big as Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Post Malone’s collaboration with Morgan Wallen. “I had some help.”

Album of the Year went to Cody Johnson, for ‘Leather’, which could be considered a disappointment. Although Johnson is extremely popular in the country industry and fandom circles, Johnson wasn’t alone when he said he “fully expected” it to go to Stapleton or Jelly Roll. “I looked at my wife and said, ‘Jelly Roll has that.’

Megan Moroney accepted the award for New Artist of the Year not long after giving a spirited performance of her second album’s title song, “Am I Ok?” “Thank you Jesus for putting this on my heart and thank you for the gift of songwriting,” she said, adding, “I’m going crazy.”

The show’s co-host Lainey Wilson won the Music Video of the Year award for “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” which was presented during one of the broadcast’s commercial breaks.

Old Dominion won the Vocal Group of the Year award for the seventh consecutive year, ahead of Little Big Town, who had won the award six years in a row. “We just made history,” said lead singer Matthew Ramsey. “Everyone we’ve ever said ‘I love you’ to has brought us to this moment.”

Post Malone, who has become Nashville’s darling this year with his first country album, “F-1 Trillion,” opened the show with a duet with perennial CMA favorite Chris Stapleton, performing a song from that album, “California Sober.” Other performances that followed included a collaboration between Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims on their respective hits, and Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan reprising their recorded duet of “Cowboys Cry Too.” Ella Langley and Riley Green teamed up for “You Look Like You Love Me”, which had been announced as the vocal event of the year prior to broadcast. Kacey Musgraves was the only artist to appear alone on stage, delivering a solo acoustic rendition of her currently Grammy-nominated “The Architect.”

Morgan Wallen came in as the main nominee in the evening, with seven nods. He had some help with that, especially in the form of his duet performance on Post Malone’s hit “I Had Some Help,” which was nominated in four categories. Wallen’s seven nominations for the CMAs are followed by five for Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton. Post Malone and Lainey Wilson each have four nominations.

In the battle for entertainer of the year, considered the top category, four of the five nominees are a repeat of last year, including Wilson (who took home the award last time), Combs, Stapleton and Wallen. The newcomer in the category is Jelly Roll. It looks like Entertainer of the Year may be more up for grabs than usual this year, with a strong case for any of the five candidates being a serious contender to win.

The ABC show aired at 8:00 PM ET, while West Coast viewing was pushed back to prime time at 8:00 PM PT. Streaming will be available on Hulu starting Thursday.
