Conor McGregor responds to Jake Paul’s victory over Mike Tyson with a controversial comment from Prichard Colón

Conor McGregor didn’t hold back after Jake Paul’s unanimous victory over Mike Tyson in their much-hyped fight.

The Irish MMA superstar posted a controversial tweet, which was later deleted, in which he suggested that Paul’s next opponent could be former boxer Prichard Colón, who is suffering from severe physical and neurological disabilities after a tragic injury in the ring.

McGregor’s comment, “They’re keeping an eye on Prichard Colón for the next opponent,” immediately drew criticism online for its insensitivity.

Colón, who suffered a life-changing subdural hematoma after repeated illegal punches during a 2015 fight, remains an enduring symbol of the dangers of boxing. McGregor’s comments highlight his continued disdain for Paul, a rivalry fueled by Paul’s challenges to fight the MMA legend.

The backlash didn’t stop there as UFC CEO Dana White also mocked Paul, joking: “If he beats Mike Tyson, he’ll fight Clint Eastwood next.

Clint Eastwood is 93 years old.” This criticism follows Paul’s history of choosing older opponents, with Tyson, 58, being the latest.

Despite the controversies, Paul’s fight against Tyson received enormous attention, cementing his status as a polarizing figure in boxing and entertainment. McGregor, meanwhile, is preparing for his expected return to the UFC, although his opponent remains unconfirmed.
