Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur: Premier League – BBC Sport

  • Crystal Palace have won just one of their last 18 Premier League games against Tottenham (D2 L15), a 3-0 home win in September 2021 under Patrick Vieira when Spurs were top of the league.

  • Tottenham have won 19 of their 30 Premier League games against Crystal Palace (D7 L4), the highest winning percentage against any other London team in the competition’s history (63%).

  • Crystal Palace won five of their first seven Premier League home games under Oliver Glasner (D1 L1), scoring 22 goals. Since then, they are winless in four games at Selhurst Park (D2 L2) and have failed to score in three games.

  • Tottenham Hotspur have won three of their last four Premier League matches (L1), the same number as in their previous eleven games (W3 D1 L7).

  • With just three points won, this is Crystal Palace’s worst start to a top-flight season after eight games (counting three points per win, also three in 1980/81, 2013/14 and 2017/18). Meanwhile, it is only the second time they have failed to win a top eight in a top-flight campaign, following the 1992-93 season when they were relegated.

  • Tottenham Hotspur have made the most runs into the opponent’s penalty area (449) and also the most overlapping runs in the final third (100) in the Premier League this season. Spurs players also top these categories individually: Dominic Solanke with 93 runs in the box and Dejan Kulusevski with 17 last-third overlapping runs.

  • Tottenham are second only to Manchester City this season in terms of shots (145), shots on target (55), touches in the penalty area (355) and successful half passes from the opponent (2,069). However, Spurs are top in terms of passes into the opponent’s penalty area (306) and expected goals (16.95).

  • Since scoring a hat-trick against Sheffield United (for Arsenal) in October 2023, Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah has played 804 minutes in the Premier League without finding the net. In fact, he is currently on a streak of 30 shots without scoring in the competition.

  • Spurs midfielder James Maddison could make his 200th Premier League appearance in this match. Maddison ranks top for passes into the opposition’s penalty area this season (72), while he has provided five assists in his last 11 games.

  • Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min has been involved in 10 goals in his last 13 Premier League derbies in London (7 goals, 3 assists). Son has 39 goals and assists in London derby matches (27 goals, 12 assists), joint-fifth among all players in Premier League history.
