Dale Earnhardt Jr. responds to CW reportedly considering changes to the NASCAR broadcast booth

The CW plans to make changes to the NASCAR broadcast booth in 2025 Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a strong opinion about it. On X (formerly known as Twitter), Earnhardt reposted the message Sports business magazine‘s story about The CW considering calling some remote races next year and reacting to the news.

“I hope they don’t,” Earnhardt wrote.

It’s clear Earnhardt doesn’t want the broadcast team to call Xfinity Series races from NASCAR Studios in North Carolina. Nothing has been finalized yet as both sides are still talking and possibly finalizing a deal.

In 2023, NASCAR announced that The CW would be the new home of the Xfinity Series in 2025. The network is broadcasting the playoff races because of the agreement it has with NBC.

“Landing the NASCAR the most watched television content and with The CW’s national reach, the move of NASCAR Xfinity Series to The CW will transform and enhance the viewing experience for the series and its fans.

“The CW has quickly become a destination for sports as the NASCAR Starting in 2025, The CW will have live sports programming 48 weekends a year. With ubiquitous distribution across one of the nation’s five major broadcast networks, NASCAR Xfinity Series races on The CW will provide greater access for fans and many more revenue opportunities for The CW and its affiliates.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has done some temp work since returning from full-time racing in 2017. Starting next year, the NASCAR Hall of Famer will be an analyst for TNT and Prime Video.

“It is such an exciting time to welcome TNT Sports back to NASCAR,” Earnhardt Jr. said. in a network release. “I remember watching the races on TNT back in the day and it’s so nostalgic to see them return to the sport and be part of their team. I look forward to joining their team and also having the opportunity to work with Bleacher Report and create content that our fans will enjoy.”
