Dallas Cowboys at NY Giants: Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb looked good

Nothing was too pretty, but the Dallas Cowboys were able to leave MetLife Stadium with another victory after the 20-15 victory over their division rival, the New York Giants. There’s no doubt they still have a lot of work to do to improve as a team, but a win is a win and that’s what they needed after back-to-back losses.

Today we’re going to look at one good, one bad, and one ugly thing from the Dallas Cowboys Week 4 win over the New York Giants. There are probably more bad and ugly things we can take away from this meeting between division rivals, but there are also some good things that happened that we can discuss.

THE GOOD – The Dak Prescott/CeeDee Lamb connection

Through the first three weeks of the 2024 season, the connection between Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb was a bit disrupted. It’s not too much of a surprise considering No. 88 missed almost the entire offseason due to his holdout while contract negotiations were ongoing. Luckily, we finally saw these two sync up in the Week 4 matchup with the New York Giants with seven receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown. Yes, the Giants were a bit short-handed at CB, but it was good to see the 4/88 connection revived.

THE BAD – Sanctions

The Dallas Cowboys continued to be their own worst enemy with these stupid penalties that put them in bad offensive situations and canceled out big plays like defense. Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants was no exception. They conceded nine penalties in the first half alone and ended the night with eleven in total. This has been a recurring problem for them for several years and there seems to be no solution. Unfortunately, it will more than likely cost them a “W” this year.

THE UGLY – Cowboys determine how the defense treats the Giants

After consecutive weeks of being completely embarrassed by the Saints and Ravens, the Dallas Cowboys defense actually played competent football in Thursday night’s game against the Giants. They managed to hold New York to just 26 rushing yards and kept them out of the end zone despite the Giants dominating the time of possession. Hopefully this is a sign that they are moving in the right direction and will continue to play competently in the future.
