    After a midseason largely marked by inactivity and the firing of CeeDee Lamb, the Dallas Cowboys will begin their 2024 season against another team that made the playoffs last year: the Cleveland Browns.

    In this game, quarterbacks Dak Prescott and DeShaun Watson will make their 2024 debuts. However, they sat out the pre-season.

    The Browns are favored by 2 1/2 points, which is roughly the value of home-field advantage, and this is seen as a battle of evenly matched teams.

    Dak Prescott and the Cowboys agreed to a record four-year, $240 million deal on Sunday, according to multiple reports, making the passer the highest-paid player in NFL history. As the league’s first $60 million-a-year player, Prescott leapfrogs the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence and the Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love, all of whom agreed to extensions worth an average of $55 million annually.

    Prescott’s new deal includes $231 million guaranteed, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
