A dancer who performed with celebrity guests on “Dancing with the Stars” was arrested Thursday in Northern California on domestic violence charges, a Napa County sheriff’s spokesman said.

Artem Chigvintsev, who starred in 12 seasons of the series, was arrested by Napa County sheriff’s deputies in Yountville after a 911 call came in about 10 a.m. reporting a domestic disturbance, spokesman Henry Wofford said.

Chigvintsev was arrested on domestic violence charges and bail was set at $25,000, Wofford said.

Online prison records show Chigvintsev was released Thursday afternoon.

Being booked does not mean he has been formally charged. The Napa County District Attorney’s Office will file all charges in the case, Wofford said.

A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service said on Thursday that the Public Prosecution Service does not yet have the case, but that it will assess it once it is received.

It was not immediately clear whether Chigvintsev had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.

According to Wofford, no details about the victim, any relationships or the location of the arrest were released due to concerns about the victims’ privacy.
