Hair Metal Night kicked off with an opening number from KISS’ “Rock and Roll All Nite,” choreographed by Pasha Pashkov and featuring Whitesnake’s Joel Hoekstra on guitar.

Gene Simmons, the co-lead singer of the rock band KISS, was a guest judge. Social media, however, had that a lot of thoughts on Simmons’ comments throughout the night. Some viewers labeled him “creepy” due to his sometimes superficial feedback that focused largely on looks and appearance.

“Hey gene! I want to remind you that this is a dance show, NOT a beauty pageant. respectfully never come back again pls and thank you #DWTS,” user @aidenxvanessa wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another message said: “phaedra gets a 5 but he gave brooks a 10… gene simmons count your days. weird and rude comments all night long #DWTS,” @grapejuicebraes added.
