Dark Clouds Over Anthony Edwards Karl-Anthony Towns Dream ‘Reunion’ as New Leaked Clip Surfaces Online

The front office isn’t the only one taking recruiting seriously. A team’s fans are just as good, if not persistent, when it comes to luring big names when the opportunity presents itself. And it looks like a Knicks fan tried to do just that when Anthony Edwards was within earshot. Did the hooper agree?

One of the shocking trades at the start of the 2024-2025 season was between the Wolves and New York. The breakup of the ‘Nova Knicks’, as well as the divorce of ANT and its running mate Karl-Anthony Towns, in the process. But the new additions seem to be settling into their respective teams well.

That still does not alter the fact that many secretly hoped that everything would return to the way it was. And perhaps the aforementioned fan wanted to capitalize on that emotion when he tried to get Anthony Edwards to move to the Knicks! Yes, you read that correctly. Hilariously, the Wolves superstar had a quick response to the impromptu recruiter.

“If I play bad, you’ll all say, ‘Booo!'” Edwards was heard saying in a leaked clip. However, nothing the Ant-Man said seemed to have any effect on the enthusiastic fan, who continued to repeat in the viral video: “Come to New York!”

Anthony Edwards’ argument is not entirely without merit. The New York crowd isn’t just a ‘to death and beyond’ fan base. As long as the team plays well, they can expect the utmost support. Once things start going downhill, the players witness a flood of criticism pouring in. And it seems Ant isn’t too keen on playing in such an atmosphere, despite the glitz and glamor of the Big Apple.

Interestingly enough, this comes in the wake of a contradictory statement from the man himself in likely the same preseason game against the Knicks.

Anthony Edwards alluded to one “meeting” with KAT, despite his commitment to Minnesota

When the former teammates met for the first time after Towns was traded to NYC, the pair exchanged jerseys. And it seemed like somewhere at that moment a fan from the crowd was heard saying: “Once that contract’s up, New York baby,” to ANT! For his part, the 23-year-old had a heartbreaking response (both the good and the bad kind).

“I would absolutely love to be reunited (with KAT).”

Since the Wolves did not play the Knicks after their preseason game, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that the aforementioned incident occurred in the very same game in which Anthony Edwards ejected the recruiter fan.

Suffice it to say, it has left fans with more questions than answers. It also doesn’t help that the 2020 top pick reiterated his commitment to the T-Wolves in a recent cover story with ESPN. “If I can, I’ll try to stay here my entire career” Anthony Edwards said in the story alongside Vikings WR, Justin Jefferson.

Well, what do you think of the whole thing? Is there a possibility that Anthony Edwards will don a New York Knicks jersey in the near future? Or will he be a one-team guy his entire career? Let us know in the comments.
