Dave Grohl threw a spanner in the works of his relationship with his wife, Jordyn Blum, years before he put on an engagement ring.

The 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman ignored Blum after a few dates, until his late bandmate Taylor Hawkins’ 2001 overdose convinced him to settle down. Tragically, Hawkins died more than 20 years later of a fatal overdose in 2022 at the age of 50.

It’s the latest revelation after Grohl brutally admitted that he cheated on Blum and had a daughter with another woman.

“I recently became the father of a new baby daughter, born out of wedlock,” Grohl shared in a statement via Instagram on Tuesday. “I plan on being a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am committed to doing everything in my power to earn their trust and forgiveness.”

“We are grateful for your attention to all the children involved as we move forward together,” he concluded.

Grohl’s spokesperson told The Post that the musician had no further comment.

Although Grohl, Blum (48) and their three children, daughters Violet (18), Harper (15) and Ophelia (10), appear to present a united front amid the baby bombshell, the musician has not always been enthusiastic about his career as a family man.

In a brief interview with Q magazine, Grohl revealed that he stopped calling Blum after just a few dates.

“I met Jordyn one night in 2001. Taylor (Hawkins) and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was the center of attention. I mean, girls were sending him drinks. This bombshell comes out and starts talking to Taylor. I just got out of a Tenacious D session. I’m in Vans sneakers, no socks, dirty shorts and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood,” Growl told the outlet.

“She waved her friend Jordyn over to me. I was like, ‘Oh my God. No chance!’ So I had a few drinks and acted like an ass. And by the end of the night I was pissed and I was staring at her and I was like, ‘You’re my future ex-wife,'” he laughed. “So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.'”

While Grohl admitted they saw each other a few more times after meeting, the former Nirvana drummer said he quickly realized she was nearing the end of her career and had backed out.

When asked if it was because he was “burned” by his first marriage — Grohl married photographer Jennifer Youngblood in 1994 and they divorced in 1997 — the musician replied, “No, because I wasn’t ready for the flag. And then we were in London (in August 2001, before the V-festival) and Taylor ended up in the hospital. He did some drugs and overdosed.”

In 2007, he told Elle, “I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling.”

After Hawkins was released from the hospital in 2001 following an overdose, Grohl returned to his hotel room and saw a familiar face on his TV screen.

“So I was watching snooker or something and this gum commercial came on — a girl walking down the subway, pickpocketing people. All of a sudden I was like, ‘That’s that girl Jordyn, that’s that chick!'” Grohl told Q. “And over the next few days I started having these dreams about this life I’d been thinking about, dreams about settling down.”

The musician said his life was “changed forever” within two weeks.

“I thought, ‘I’m not going to wait another minute, because life is too f—ing short, man. It’s too delicate,'” he explained. “The day we got home, I called her up and she was like, ‘Wow, I never thought I’d hear from you again.’ So I took her to a restaurant near here. And that was that.”

Grohl and Blum married in August 2003 at their LA home. Their eldest child has deactivated her Instagram account since her father came clean about his affair and baby scandal.

Grohl and Blum have shown no signs of trouble in their marriage in recent months, having been spotted at Wimbledon in July, just weeks before his announcement.
