Dave Grohl has announced that he has become the father of a baby girl born “out of wedlock.”

The 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman said in an Instagram post Tuesday that he plans to be a “loving and supportive parent” to his new daughter.

Grohl, who has three daughters with his wife Jordyn Blum, said he loves his family and is “doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

“I recently became a father to a new baby daughter, born out of wedlock,” he wrote in the post. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.

“I love my wife and my children, and I will do everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

He added: “We are grateful for your attention to all the children involved as we move forward together, Dave.”

Grohl has been married to Blum, a director, since 2003.

The rocker played drums in the groundbreaking grunge band Nirvana from 1990 to 1994, until lead singer Kurt Cobain died at the age of 27.

He later formed the Foo Fighters and scored a number of chart-topping albums, including their most recent 2023 album But Here We Are.
