Day 4 Preview of 2024 Olympic Games

The fourth day of the 2024 Olympic Games takes place on Tuesday with judo, tennis, basketball, rugby sevens, gymnastics, archery, swimming and volleyball. Team Canada is in the semifinals in women’s rugby sevens against Australia with a 75% chance of earning a medal. Canada will also be playing Australia in men’s basketball and women’s 3×3 basketball. There are also medal opportunities in judo and swimming. Francois Gauthier-Drapeau of Alma, Quebec finished fifth in the men’s 81 kilogram judo weight class at the 2023 World Judo Championships in Doha, Qatar, and won silver in an International Judo Federation Grand Slam in Antalya, Turkey in March. Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard of Montreal, Quebec won bronze in the women’s 63 kilograms at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.

In the women’s 100m backstroke swimming, Kylie Masse of Windsor, Ontario won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and the silver medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021. Ingrid Wilm of Calgary, Alberta won the bronze medal at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
