DeAndre Hopkins ‘remembers the Titans’ during TD celebration at MNF

play

The Kansas City Chiefs traded a conditional draft pick to the Tennessee Titans for wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins two weeks ago.

Hopkins, who had two receptions for 29 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8, had a much bigger impact in the Chiefs’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football.” He made two crucial catches in the first half, including his first touchdown in a Chiefs uniform for a lead.

In case you missed it, Hopkins’ celebration after catching his first touchdown referenced the Disney movie “Remember the Titans,” possibly a subtle nod to his former team.

Hopkins had 75 catches for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns for the Titans last season. After a slow start due to an ACL injury, he had 15 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown in six games before being traded.

Hopkins finished with eight catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 30-24 overtime win.
