The Detroit Lions’ 24-14 win over the Green Bay Packers wasn’t nearly as close as the final score indicated. For Frank Schwab and Jason Fitz, it signaled that the Lions, not the Chiefs, are truly the best team in the NFL right now and have the offense and defense to take on any team in the league in any circumstance and play style.

They’re heading straight for that number one seed.

This is the best team in the NFC.

And I guess the question, because I’m a guy who ranks football teams every Monday, are they the best team in the NFL?

Regardless of what happens tomorrow with the Chiefs?

I mean, I hate to do that because context matters when they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 72 0.

Like, yeah.

OK. That would of course change opinions.

But as I sit here right now, Fitz, the team I just saw beat the Packers, is the best team in football and we’ll see what happens tomorrow night.

But I expect to become number one in the power rankings in the future.

They, yes, they have the loss that the Chiefs don’t have.

The Chiefs have the pedigree and all, but they pass the eye test every week. This Lions team of just, hey, we can play how you want to play, we have the best offensive line in football.

We have a quarterback who seems to be making 90% of his passes every week.

Monro Saint Brown is simply incredible.

This defense is still playing well without Aidan Hutchinson.

In this match they actually only conceded three points.

Like, yeah, the Packers got a few bad scores, a field goal and then a touchdown and late.

But that was after the game ended, as soon as the Lions came out to start the second half and now score a touchdown.

You know what this one is over, this won’t happen again.

So hats off to the Lions man.

In my opinion, this is the best team in football right now. Frank, if you don’t put the Lions number one in your power rankings, you’re a coward.

If everyone can’t just step back and admit that the Lions are the best team in the NFL, then we’re just sitting here saying, okay, Kansas City, Kansas City, Kansas City and I’m not taking anything away from the Chiefs because they only win, even if it’s ugly.

All the Chiefs do is win.

But for me and I’ve told you this before.

I like a team that has a sound.

I have, I like a team like a choose your own adventure book where you go to page 72 if you want to go to the right then go to page 84.

If you want to go left today, we learned that the lions are truly one: choose your own lion, whatever the adventure, they will find a way to beat you.

And I don’t want to gloss over the fact that Jared Goff (18 to 22) continues to play low-error, high-efficiency football in this game.

And if you do that at quarterback, if you can trust this team, we’re going to get a lot into today’s action.

If you can trust your quarterback not to lose you the game, you have a huge advantage.

So when we talk about the best teams and the best teams, that’s definitely the case for Kansas City and Mahomes.

But the difference here is I have a quarterback that won’t lose me the game on an offense that actually has five or six different players that can beat you on any given Sunday with the defense that plays well enough to win a championship .

There’s no reason at this point for Lions fans other than fear of heartbreak not to stand on the top of the mountaintop and say, you know what, we’re going to the damn Super Bowl because we have the best team in the be NFC. and it is clear.
