Delaware resident wins $300,000 prize in scratch-off game

An unidentified woman got lucky when she bought the winning ticket at Food Lion in Beaver Plaza in New Castle, the Delaware Lottery reports. On July 17, she wasted no time in claiming her well-earned prize.

According to officials, she and her husband consider themselves extremely fortunate to have won the award. They feel the timing could not have been better, as they wanted to renovate their home and save some money for the future.

“We are thrilled to extend our congratulations to the most recent winner of the MEGA BUCKS BLOWOUT,” said Helene Keeley, Delaware Lottery President. “There is nothing more satisfying than seeing our players achieve such substantial wins. This remarkable victory is a testament to the exciting experiences and endless possibilities our games provide.”

There is one top prize left of $300,000 for the Mega Bucks Blowout scratch card.

How long do I have to claim my prize?

According to delottery.com, tickets for draw game prizes are valid for one year after the draw date. For Instant Games, tickets are valid for one year after the announced end of sale.

How can I claim my prize?

To begin, the first step is to sign the back of your ticket with an ink pen. This is important because it serves as a way to identify yourself as the rightful owner of the ticket. It is important to note that once the ticket is signed, it cannot be altered or transferred to anyone else, as stated by the Delaware Lottery.

To claim a prize valued at $5,001 or more, visit the Delaware Lottery Office during business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Be sure to bring a valid photo ID with your name and address, along with your Social Security card.

Winning Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto America tickets must be redeemed in the state and jurisdiction in which they were sold.
