Derek Jeter burns Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz during Fox pregame

Derek Jeter apparently wanted an awkward “love triangle” exchange between David Ortiz, Mr. With and Mrs. With avoidance after Game 5 on Friday, and two days later before the NLCS resumed in Los Angeles, the former Yankees shortstop used a description of a Taylor Swift concert to jokingly describe his partners during the pregame show.

Matt Vasgersian, who replaces Kevin Burkhardt as Fox Sports host, asked Jeter what he was doing on the day off between Games 5 and 6, and Jeter said he was in Miami.

“I took my girls to Taylor Swift’s concert,” Jeter responded, referring to her show at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday. “I got a chance to hang out with a bunch of teenagers and toddlers. Very similar to what I do here at Fox.”

Jeter’s jab brought some laughter from Ortiz and Alex Rodriguez on set.

But after Friday’s game, when the Mets extended their season one more time with a 12-6 victory, Jeter left the set during an awkward moment in the postgame show.

When Ortiz invited Ms. Met to the set and Mr. Met followed suit, he said, “See Kevin when you win, everything can be shared. I’m just making that up, everything is shareable.”

“Is this a love triangle?” Burkhardt sounded back. “I think this is a show for another network.”

During that time, Jeter got up from his seat and left the set without saying a word as the conversation between Ortiz, Mr. Met and Ms. Met continued.

The trio of analysts was in Los Angeles on Sunday for Game 6 of the NLCS, with the Mets needing a win to keep their season alive.

But if the Dodgers can escape with a victory in a bullpen game, they will face the Yankees in the World Series and host Game 1 on Friday.

The Mets took an early lead in the first inning after Francisco Lindor walked, advanced to second base and scored when Pete Alonso’s ball near second base led to a throwing error by Chris Taylor.

But the Dodgers took the lead at the very bottom of the frame as Tommy Edman continued his postseason tear, scoring Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández.
