The Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars face off in a Week 11 matchup between teams heading in opposite directions.

The Lions are on a seven-game winning streak, and if they win on Sunday, they will tie a franchise record for consecutive wins in a season. They currently lead the NFC and are the odds-on favorite to win their second consecutive division title.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, are 2-8. Rumors swirled Sunday morning that major changes could be coming to the fledgling franchise, with possible layoffs for the head coach and general manager. It’s a shocking fall from grace after the Jaguars reached the divisional round in 2022 and followed it up with a respectable 9-8 season. Although that 2023 season was defined more by the team’s 1-5 finish on the year, and that collapse has clearly continued into 2024.

So it’s no wonder the Lions are home favorites this week with 13.5 points. But this is an “every Sunday” league, and of the Jaguars’ eight losses, only two were by more than one score. Last week, the Jaguars took the 7-2 Minnesota Vikings to the final seconds. So if Detroit isn’t careful, this could be another close game on Sunday.
