Fans outside Chase Field waited patiently for first pitch tonight.

With the D-Backs trailing the Dodgers by four games, a series win would make things very interesting in the NL West.

The D-back is preparing for 45,000 fans on Friday and Saturday nights, with the potential to sell more than 150,000 tickets over the next four days.

“It’s gonna be electric, it’s gonna be loud, and it’s gonna be awesome,” said fan Luke Noah.

“I always say what the LA on that cap means is you guys are going to lose again,” said fan Tom Kimbro.

The Labor Day weekend series drew fans from across the country.

Fans like Kim Kellenbarger, who came over from Massachusetts.

“We flew in from Boston,” Kellenbarger said. “My son loves the Diamondbacks. I’m a big supporter, so we’re just here to see them play and yeah, I’m excited!”

However, it won’t be easy to beat the Dodgers, who are in first place.

“I really think the D-backs have to hit a lot of homers,” Noah said. “They have to get a lot of hits. The bullpen has to really be solid and stay strong through those innings.”

“Our pitchers have to throw a minimum of seven innings for the starting pitcher and then we bring in a pitcher each inning to shut them down,” Kimbro added.

Fans also know very well what is at stake in the next four games.

“It’s a close call for the NL West. I mean, this could decide who gets the bye in the playoffs. Who gets that first or second seed and doesn’t have to play in the wild card? That’s it,” Noah said.
